Colour Studies

These sketchbook pages all show colour studies using a range of mixed media, including collage, oil pastel, chalk pastel, watercolour paints and pencils. They all show good page layout, neat and detailed annotation and well observed studies.

Unit 1 Ashmolean Museum

Students visited the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford to gather primary sources for mixed media experiments.These sketchbooks shows studies from the museum, composition ideas and mixed media experiments.

Unit 1 Mock Exam Prep

This project was the culmination of Unit 1 work. Students visited Walsall Art Gallery to seek inspiration. These sketchbooks show well-observed studies of artworks in the gallery in a range of mixed media.

Unit 2 Prep Work

These sketchbook pages all show responses to the 2012 AS Unit 2 exam themes. They show thoughtful presentation, a good balance of visual imagery and annotation.
